Vail Resorts has announced two new Austrian ski destinations will join the Epic Pass lineup for the 2025/26 season, adding 120 miles of groomed slopes. Alongside the previously announced Saalbach and Kitzsteinhorn, Mayrhofen and Hintertux in the Zillertal valley are now included, just 45 minutes from Innsbruck airport.
The two resorts offer a diverse range of terrain suitable for all skill levels. Beginners can enjoy gentle groomers on the Ahorn plateau, while experts can tackle the Harakiri slope in Mayrhofen — Austria’s steepest, with a 78% gradient. Mayrhofen also features the popular Penken Park, a hotspot for freestyle skiers and park enthusiasts.
“Mayrhofen and Hintertux are exciting additions to the Epic Pass, where the thrill of Austria’s steepest slope experience meets the endless powder of the Hintertux Glacier,” said Bill Rock, President of Vail Resorts’ Mountain Division.
The Hintertux Glacier area is unique for its year-round skiing opportunities, thanks to its high elevation and glaciated terrain. Klaus Dengg, CEO of Hintertux Glacier, noted, “The Hintertux Glacier is well known amongst skiers worldwide — many U.S. ski racers have trained here.”
With these additions, the Epic Pass now covers key European destinations including Mayrhofen, Hintertux, Saalbach, Zell am See-Kaprun, Skirama Dolomiti, Les 3 Vallées, Verbier 4 Vallées, Crans Montana, Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis, and Ski Arlberg — plus 37 resorts in North America.
Epic Passes are currently available for $1,051 for adults and $537 for children. Prices will rise after May 26.
