Kelly Walsh High School standout Fisk Johansson has officially signed with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to continue his Nordic skiing career at the collegiate level.
Johansson capped off a decorated high school career with another stellar performance at the 2025 Wyoming Nordic Skiing Championships, capturing the state title in the 10-kilometer freestyle event with a winning time of 28:21.8. He also claimed a runner-up finish in the 5K classic, clocking in at 16:10.
His success this season built on an already impressive junior campaign, where Johansson won the 10K classic state title in 28:13.36 and placed fifth in the 5K freestyle with a time of 13:42.
Johansson’s consistency has been evident throughout his high school career. At the 2023 state championships, he finished sixth in the 5K classic (16:34) and 17th in the 10K freestyle (32:24.1). As a freshman, he placed ninth in the 10K classic (32:05.2) and 20th in the 5K freestyle (15:18.4), showing strong promise from the start.
In addition to state-level competitions, Johansson has competed on the national stage. He participated in the 2024 Junior National Championships in Lake Placid, New York, and the National Junior Championships at Soldier Hollow in Utah, gaining valuable experience among the country’s top youth Nordic skiers.
Now set to join Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Nordic program, Johansson will bring his endurance, discipline, and winning pedigree to the collegiate trails as he looks to take the next step in his skiing career.
