SINGAPORE – Project Send, a rock climbing gym located at Esplanade Mall, has announced it will shut down on June 26, 2025, marking just under three years in operation since its opening in September 2022.
The gym shared the news on Instagram, citing growing financial challenges as the main reason for the closure. “It’s becoming more unsustainable to run our space here,” the team wrote. “The past few months have been the best yet, but it’s been a good run and a dream come true for all of us at Project Send.”
The post also expressed gratitude to the climbing community: “Thank you to everyone who came and made this small gym your home.”
Project Send had become a niche spot for climbing enthusiasts in the city, offering an intimate and community-driven space in the heart of the arts district. Despite a recent uptick in engagement, the gym was unable to maintain long-term viability.
The closure highlights the challenges faced by small, independent fitness businesses operating in high-rent areas.
