DENVER — University of Denver graduate student Loic Chable has been named to the Swiss National Ski Team for the 2025-26 season, securing a place on the Men’s Alpine B-Team.
Chable, originally from Villars, Switzerland, is set to compete on the FIS Europa Cup circuit this winter and will aim for starts on the FIS Alpine World Cup tour.
Over the past three years, Chable has competed in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA), representing Westminster University before transferring to Denver for the 2024-25 season. With the Pioneers, he enjoyed his strongest collegiate season to date, earning six top-10 finishes and placing in the top five three times across 14 races.
His standout performances included two fourth-place finishes in giant slalom—at the Montana State Invitational on Feb. 3 and the RMISA Championships in Alaska on Feb. 20. He also finished fifth in slalom at the Denver Invite on Jan. 7 and came eighth in the same discipline at the conference championships on Feb. 22.
Chable qualified for his third NCAA Championship this year and achieved his best national results yet, placing 11th in slalom and 12th in giant slalom during the March 5–7 competition in New Hampshire.
A former racer for the SAS Lausanne club in Switzerland, Chable also represented his home country at the FISU World University Games in both 2023 and 2025. At this year’s Games in Torino, Italy, held Jan. 14–22, he won a gold medal in Alpine Combined and a silver in giant slalom.
Chable’s season also included a strong showing at the U.S. Alpine National Championships in Vail, Colorado, where he placed fourth in super-G and 12th in giant slalom on March 30–31. On the FIS Nor-Am Cup circuit, he notched four top-10 finishes, highlighted by a third-place podium finish in super-G at the finals in Sugarloaf, Maine, on March 14.
