Wrightwood, Calif. – Mountain High Resort, one of Southern California’s most popular winter destinations, is expanding its offerings into summer recreation with the launch of a brand-new downhill mountain bike park. The new facility will open to the public on Friday, June 14.
Located at the resort’s West base area in Wrightwood, the park features three professionally designed trails catering to a range of skill levels. Resort officials said the initial rollout is part of a broader, three-phase development plan that will ultimately deliver more than a dozen trails and miles of new terrain.
During its first phase, the park will include eight miles of rideable terrain. Three trails will be available on opening day: one beginner-friendly route, one intermediate trail, and one for advanced riders.
In addition to the main trails, the resort will also introduce a new Skills Park. This practice area includes wooden features such as small jumps, drops, and banked turns, giving riders a safe space to sharpen their skills before hitting the mountain.
Mountain biking operations will run every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through October 12, offering outdoor enthusiasts a new way to enjoy the resort beyond the winter months.
“We’re excited to bring something completely new to the region,” said resort officials in a statement. “This park represents the next step in growing year-round mountain activities at Mountain High.”
More Trails Coming in Future Phases
The resort’s long-term plans include two additional phases of construction. The second phase, scheduled for summer 2026, will introduce five more trails and an additional six miles of mostly advanced terrain. The third and final phase, set for spring 2027, will add five more miles of expert-level runs.
When complete, the bike park will feature a total of 18 miles of trails, solidifying Mountain High as a major destination for mountain bikers in Southern California.
Pricing and Pass Options
Lift tickets start at $42 for adults and $29 for children ages 5 to 12. Mountain High also offers season passes that include discounts on lift tickets, equipment rentals, and dining. Passholders also receive complimentary access to the resort’s disc golf course.

To celebrate the debut of the bike park, Mountain High will host a grand opening event on June 14. The celebration will include live music, local vendors, and a variety of giveaways.
