As spring temperatures rise earlier than usual, ski enthusiasts hoping to squeeze in a few more runs might feel the season is ending too soon. In Colorado, only one ski resort will remain open after May 18.
Arapahoe Basin, often called A-Basin, is the sole resort set to operate beyond that date. Winter Park’s Mary Jane side will close for the season on May 18.
Arapahoe Basin is hosting its annual “Gay Basin Pride Weekend” to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community on May 17 and 18.
The resort plans to stay open well past that weekend, likely until mid-June, according to spokesperson Shayna Silverman.
“We will ski and ride as Mother Nature allows,” Silverman told the Coloradoan via email. Last year, Arapahoe Basin stayed open through June 16.
Both Arapahoe Basin and Winter Park operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Discounted daily lift tickets are available at both resorts, with extra savings offered for tickets purchased online.
