The third edition of the annual Rock Climbing Festival will take place in Sokla Valley, Bhimeshwor Municipality-2, from May 3 to 4.
The two-day event aims to promote Sokla Valley as a prime destination for adventure rock climbing, according to Arjun Pakhrin, Chair of the Sokla Tourism Development Society. The festival is being supported financially by the Nepal Tourism Board and is a collaborative effort involving various local authorities.
Rock climbing activities will be held on the cliffs of Sokla and Chakpa. Located just eight kilometers from Charikot, the district headquarters, Sokla village is renowned for its agro-tourism, ecotourism, adventure tourism, bird watching, and views of the Gaurishankar mountain range. It is also known for its opportunities for religious study and research. The Mountain Guide Association of Nepal is providing technical support for the festival.
