Lexington, VA — The Greater Rockbridge County Skateboarder Coalition will celebrate its fourth anniversary with a community fundraiser, The Sound of Art, on Saturday, May 17. The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lexington Skateboard Park and is free and open to all ages.
The celebration will feature live music, local art displays and sales, skateboarding vendors, arcade games, and skateboarding contests. Band merchandise will also be available for purchase. Entry to the skateboarding competitions will cost $10 per event.
Food, drinks, and water will be sold on-site, but guests are welcome to bring their own meals and lawn chairs. Alcohol will not be permitted at the event.
Organizers are seeking volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and managing the gate. They are also looking for sponsors to help cover the costs of contests and event operations.
