TRIGG BEACH, WA (Wednesday, 4 June 2025) — Trigg Beach is set to come alive this week as Western Australia’s top young surfers compete in the second stop of the 2025 WA Junior Surfing Titles, proudly presented by Think Mental Health.

More than 100 surfers aged between 8 and 17 will hit the waves over three days, hoping to secure vital points in their quest to qualify for the Australian Junior Surfing Titles in South Australia this November. Forecasts suggest ideal conditions, raising expectations for a thrilling showcase of talent along Perth’s metro coastline.

Trigg Beach’s varied breaks, offering both left and right-hand waves, will give junior surfers an ideal stage to display their skills. With the first round already complete in Margaret River, competitors are under pressure to solidify their rankings and keep their national title hopes alive.

Many of this weekend’s juniors are inspired by local stars such as Jack Robinson, Jacob Willcox, Bronte Macaulay, and Willow Hardy, who recently competed at the elite Championship Tour level.

Among the competitors, Okie Fraser and Olive Hardy, both from Margaret River, are expected to be key contenders in the Under-18 divisions. Meanwhile, Ace Flynn and Grace Cook from Cowaramup, along with Jasper Glossop (Vasse) and Ily Fraser (Margaret River), will be aiming to defend their wins from the opening round.

Helping guide the athletes will be Surfing WA’s high-performance coaching team. Coaches Ian ‘Wooly’ Macpherson and Emma Cattlin will provide expert advice on wave selection, heat strategy, and performance improvement throughout the event.

Competition will begin at 7:40 AM on Friday, with finals and presentations scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The event promises plenty of action for spectators, with prime viewing in front of Surfing WA Headquarters. Families, friends, and surf fans are all invited to enjoy the beachside atmosphere and support the next wave of surfing stars.
