Rosie Fordham, an Australian cross-country skier, achieved a remarkable milestone at the U23 World Championships in Schilpario, Italy, this winter. Fordham secured the silver medal in the 10km individual skate race, marking a historic achievement for Australia in cross-country skiing. The race, held in snowy conditions, saw Fordham make her mark as the first Australian to earn a podium finish at a world event in this discipline.
In addition to her success on the slopes, Fordham was honored with the Australian Snowboarder of the Year award during the week. She has also been nominated for the prestigious Snow Australia Athlete of the Year award, further solidifying her place among the country’s top winter sports athletes.
On the men’s side, Lars Young Vik finished thirty-third in the sprint qualifier at the World Championships in Trondheim, Norway. He was also elected to a notable position during the event.
