PROVO, Utah (April 21, 2025) — Join the cycling community for the eighth annual Golden Spoke Bike Ride on Saturday, May 10, 2025. This popular event highlights Utah’s expanding network of paved trails stretching from Ogden to Provo, offering routes for cyclists of all skill levels—from beginners to experienced riders.
The ride will finish at the new Skippers Bay Trailhead in the Provo River Delta, a recently developed recreational area.
Riders can choose from various distances, including family-friendly options and a challenging 100-mile endurance ride. Event details, including maps and ride options, are available on the official website.
In a move to promote sustainable travel, UTA will offer free transit passes to all participants. Registered riders will also receive a complimentary water bottle, and the first 200 to sign up will receive a $10 food voucher to use at the finish line celebration.
The bike routes will run north to south, all culminating at Skippers Bay, where the event’s festivities will take place. The celebration will feature a family ride around Skippers Bay, a bike rodeo, a scavenger hunt, and activities for kids. There will also be food trucks, live music, community booths, and a volunteer service project. Attendees can take part in birdwatching from a viewing tower, enjoy fishing, or take a boat out on the water.
The Provo River Delta, developed as part of Utah’s conservation efforts for the endangered June Sucker fish, opened to the public last year. The Golden Spoke Bike Ride offers an opportunity to enjoy Utah’s scenic trails, engage with the local biking community, and celebrate the impressive trail network that riders have helped build and maintain.
