FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) — The Folly Beach Wahine Classic, the longest-running women’s surf competition on the East Coast, is set to return this summer for its 23rd edition.
Scheduled for July 26–27 at the Washout on Folly Beach, the event is open to spectators and continues to be South Carolina’s only all-female surf contest.
The Wahine Classic not only celebrates female surfers of all ages and skill levels but also gives back to the community.
Donations collected during the event will support several local ocean-focused nonprofits, including Warrior Surf, Surfers Healing, Waves 4 Women, She’s On Edge, Charleston Surfrider, and the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network.
This annual tradition highlights the growing presence of women in surfing while encouraging ocean advocacy and local engagement.
