New York, NY — Ralph Lauren has entered the luxury winter sports market with the release of limited-edition skis and a snowboard, joining the ranks of high-end fashion houses like Balenciaga and Prada.

The newly launched Ski ’92 Graphic Decorative Skis, available for $1,950, feature a nostalgic design inspired by Ralph Lauren’s iconic Fall 1992 “Ski” collection. Only 15 pairs of the skis—crafted from maple and poplar—have been produced, making them a rare collector’s item.

Alongside the skis, Ralph Lauren is also offering the P-Wing Decorative Snowboard, retailing for $1,750. The board’s design draws from the brand’s 1992 Stadium collection, incorporating vintage Ralph Lauren track and field graphics.

Both items are the result of a collaboration with Parlor Skis, a custom ski manufacturer based in Boston. Parlor is now the largest ski producer in New England and was founded by three former ski racers. Known for their custom builds, Parlor allows customers to select ski specifications such as waist width, length, and turn radius, as well as materials like maple, poplar, paulownia, or hybrid woods. Reinforcement options include tri-axial fiberglass, Titanal, and carbon fiber. The company also makes a line of standard snowboards and offers similar customization for those.

Luxury brands releasing winter sports gear has become more common in recent years. Some have released limited-run skis, while others sponsor top athletes or partner with media brands to elevate the sport’s lifestyle appeal. Notably, J.Crew partnered with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team in March 2025 ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, focusing on après-ski and lifestyle fashion rather than technical gear.

The crossover between luxury branding and action sports continues to raise questions among core fans. For many, the spirit of skiing is rooted in craftsmanship and authenticity, not luxury price tags. Collaborations with independent brands like Parlor—known for their hand-built ethos—highlight the tension between tradition and high fashion in the evolving winter sports world.
