TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River Recreation is giving local families a final reminder that registration is still open for its popular summer camps focused on surfing, bodyboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), run in partnership with Coastline Adventures.
The Surfing and Bodyboarding Camps will be held at Ortley Beach, while the SUP Camp will take place at Shelter Cove.
These programs teach kids essential ocean safety, swimming techniques, and how to handle their boards. Campers also take part in beach games and explore the coastal environment.
The Kids’ Bodyboarding Camps at Ortley Beach are open to children ages 6 to 12 who can already swim. Two sessions are available: June 30 through July 3, and August 18 through August 21. Each session runs daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with Fridays reserved as rain dates.
The cost is $260 per child, per session, and includes all equipment. Campers should come dressed for the beach and bring a towel, sunscreen, snacks, and drinks.
The camps offer a fun and active way for kids to develop confidence in the ocean while enjoying a memorable beachside experience.
