The Northwest Tune-Up festival in Bellingham will add a new biking event to its 2025 lineup called the Freestyle Showdown. This event is a bronze-level competition sanctioned by the Freeride Mountain Bike Association (FMB), the world governing body for freeride mountain biking. It will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, as part of the three-day festival running from July 11–13. The Freestyle Showdown will feature elite freeride athletes competing on a flowy dirt jump course designed for big air and technical tricks. The event offers individual points for the FMB World Tour and cash prizes for the open divisions. Spectating is free to the public, and advance registration will open soon.
The Northwest Tune-Up is known as one of the fastest-growing outdoor festivals in the Pacific Northwest, combining mountain biking, live music, and community activities. The 2025 festival will also include other marquee events such as the Pump Track Drag Race, the Cascadia Dirt Cup – Galbraith MTN Enduro, and the Gravel Gran Fundo group ride. Alongside the biking competitions, the festival features live music performances, an exhibitor village with over 75 outdoor brands, local food and drink vendors, and family-friendly activities.
