Houghton, Mich. — Michigan Tech has announced the addition of nine new student-athletes to its Nordic skiing roster for the 2025-26 season, a major recruiting class that will shape the team’s new identity after graduating 11 seniors last year.
“This year we welcome an impressive nine new members to our team,” head coach Tom Monahan Smith said. “With so many graduating, our incoming class will make up the majority of the roster. This will truly be a new team, but we’re thrilled. These student-athletes bring not only national and international success, but also the personal qualities we value at Michigan Tech.”
The incoming group includes top U.S. performers and internationally experienced skiers. Here’s a closer look at two of the standout recruits:

“Noa had a breakout season,” said Monahan Smith. “He’s an all-around skier with strong results in both sprint and distance. On top of that, he’s humble, easygoing, and brings a love of the outdoors that fits our culture. He’s a true Alaskan—into hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends.”
