WHISTLER, B.C. — Excitement is building as Whistler Mountain Bike Park prepares to open for the 2025 season. Favorable early-season weather has accelerated snowmelt in the Fitzsimmons Zone, clearing the way for another action-packed summer on the trails. While ski and snowboard enthusiasts wrap up their final runs on Blackcomb, the energy is already shifting back to the bike park.

Visitors to Whistler Village may spot the Joyride Crew working in the Boneyard, getting the terrain ready for the Crankworx festival, which will return from August 8 to 17.

Before the season kicks off, riders are encouraged to prep their bikes, rest up, and follow the golden rule for opening day: pre-ride, re-ride, then free-ride.

Trail and Crew Updates

Whistler’s Bike Park crew has spent the off-season ensuring trails are ready for summer:

Major trails such as A-Line, South Park, Earth Circus, Heart of Darkness (HOD), Crank It Up, and C-More underwent refurbishments last fall and are prepped for heavy use.

Spring maintenance efforts included raking winter debris, removing deadfall, and refreshing trail features rebuilt last winter.

The Events Crew is finalizing details for the Phat Wednesday and Phat Kidz series, as well as other seasonal events and Crankworx festivities.

2025 Operational Schedule

The park will operate in zones with staggered openings:

  • Fitzsimmons Zone: May 16 – October 13
  • Creekside Zone: June 7 – September 21
  • Garbanzo Zone: June 14 – September 21
  • Peak Zone / Top of the World: Opening date TBD based on snow conditions; expected to close by September 1

With trail updates, new gear, and a full slate of events, the 2025 season promises to be one of the most exciting yet for mountain bikers of all levels.
