The 2025 World Skateboarding Tour (WST) World Cup in Rome has showcased thrilling performances from top skateboarders. Against the backdrop of Italy’s historic capital, athletes are aiming to make their own mark in this prestigious event.
Results from the WST Street World Cup Rome semifinals are in for both men and women. Sixteen semifinalists competed in two runs and three tricks, with the highest scores from one run and one trick counting toward their total, following the 2/3/2 Street Format detailed on the official WST website.
Out of the 16 men and women competing in the semifinals, only eight will advance to the finals. Leading the men is world No. 1 skateboarder Sora Shirai, 23, from Japan, who secured first place with a total score of 181.16. The top female competitor is Australia’s rising star Chloe Covell (No. 6), who posted a total score of 172.37. Covell’s highest run score was 81.31, while her best trick earned 91.06 points.
The finals will feature a slightly different format. The eight men and eight women finalists will each perform three runs and three tricks. The best run and best trick scores will be combined to determine the winner, following the 3/3/2 Format.
Japan and Brazil currently dominate the finalists’ list. However, competitors like Covell, Chenxi, and Terol remain strong contenders for the title.
Performing well in the WST World Cup and World Championship events can help skateboarders qualify for the Olympic Games, the ultimate goal for many athletes. With so much on the line, the pressure is high as the finalists prepare for the concluding round of the WST World Cup Rome.
