Snowsport England has launched the Way2Snow campaign to help people learn to ski or snowboard before their first winter holiday. The initiative aims to make these sports more accessible by offering affordable lessons on real snow at indoor centres across England.
The campaign features lessons for beginners and families at three real snow centres: Chill Factore in Manchester, SnowDome in Tamworth, and The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. It also supports snowsport charities, including Disability Snowsport UK and Snow Camp.
Way2Snow is a UK-wide collaboration involving key snowsport organisations such as the Ski Club of Great Britain, Disability Snowsport UK, Snow Camp, and the three indoor snow centres. Together, they aim to introduce more people to skiing and snowboarding through this first-of-its-kind national campaign.
Participants can book 12 hours of tuition on real snow for just £299 for adults, with a reduced price of £249 for juniors aged 11 to 16. Tailored sessions for people with disabilities and additional needs are available through Disability Snowsport UK.
The Way2Snow package includes:
- Free ski or snowboard gear, boots, and helmets with every lesson
- Exclusive discounts on winter holidays with Neilson and Crystal Ski
- Special offers on equipment and clothing from Snow+Rock, Ellis Brigham, and The Snowboard Asylum
- Complimentary membership to the Ski Club of Great Britain, offering access to large ski communities and year-round discounts
- Half-price membership to Snowsport England, which provides benefits for beginners
- Free tickets to the UK’s largest snow shows this autumn
A portion of the fees collected will be donated to Disability Snowsport UK and Snow Camp, a charity that uses snowsports to help young people improve their lives.
James Arnold, CEO of Snowsport England, said, “Snowsports are a great activity for fun, no matter your age or fitness level. Like the Couch to 5K programme, Way2Snow is designed to take people from little or no experience to a confident level, guided by expert instructors at all three centres, and at a very affordable price. Getting more people to try snowsports is an excellent way to build excitement ahead of the upcoming Winter Olympics, just months away.”
