The organisers of the 2025 Australian Indoor Skydiving Championships have announced their biggest prize pool yet, with over $20,000 in cash set to be awarded across all competitive divisions.
Now in its ninth year, the Championships have grown to become the country’s premier indoor skydiving event. It draws elite athletes, newcomers, and increasingly large audiences every year.
“This year’s prize pool is about more than just money,” said Holly Jaadla, Entertainment Marketing Manager at XRGroup. “It shows how much the sport has developed. We want to reward talent, welcome new flyers, and capture the excitement that makes indoor skydiving so special.”
Cash prizes will be awarded to first-place teams in every category, including juniors. Higher-level divisions will offer bigger prizes, and second and third places will also receive rewards. The exact prize amounts will depend on the number of registered competitors.
This expanded prize fund is made possible by the support of Platinum Sponsor Public Safety Training and Response Group, a leader in emergency training nationwide. The sponsorship aims to increase participation and support athlete growth in the sport.
“Each year, the event grows in size and energy,” Jaadla added. “The 2025 Championships look set to be the most thrilling yet. The talent, especially among juniors and in the All Abilities category, is amazing. It really shows the future of the sport.”
The announcement kicks off a busy season as organisers prepare to welcome athletes, fans, and new spectators to Penrith this August.
The 2025 Championships will take place from August 8 to 10 at iFLY Downunder in Penrith, home to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel.
The event is free to watch and expects over 100 teams competing in categories like Formation Skydiving, Vertical Formation, Dynamic, Freestyle, and the inclusive All Abilities division.
