ROME, Italy — Brazilian skateboarding sensation Gui Khury made history over the weekend by landing the world’s first-ever 900 in a Park competition during the 2025 World Skateboarding Tour season opener in Rome.
Although the groundbreaking trick electrified the crowd, Khury did not win the event. He finished in third place, behind Spain’s Egoitz Bijueska, who took gold, and Japan’s Yuro Nagahara, who claimed silver.
Khury first pulled off the 900 — a two-and-a-half mid-air rotation — during the semifinals at The Spot Skatepark, sending the audience into a frenzy. He then landed the trick twice more during the finals, cementing the performance as one of the most memorable moments in Park skateboarding history.
Khury, the reigning 2024 Vert World Champion, demonstrated both innovation and consistency, pushing the sport to new heights.
As the tour continues, all eyes now shift to the WST Street competition, set to take place this week at Parco Colle Oppio, near the historic Colosseum. The next major stop on the World Skateboarding Tour is scheduled for September in Washington, D.C., where the 2025 World Championships will be held.
