Harbin, which hosted the Asian Winter Games last season, is set to become home to a new, state-of-the-art winter sports training facility.
This week, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Harbin’s municipal government. The agreement aims to establish a world-class training center for winter sports athletes across Asia.
“The success of the Asian Winter Games has greatly inspired the people of Harbin,” said Zhang Haihua, vice mayor of Harbin.
“Our city is now planning the high-quality development of a winter sports training center in partnership with the Olympic Council of Asia, to serve athletes from all over the continent,” he added.
