Flagstaff, AZ — May 15, 2025 — Arizona Snowbowl is celebrating its longest ski season in 87 years. The resort will remain open through Sunday, June 1, marking a historic 185-day season for skiing and snowboarding.
Currently open on weekends, Snowbowl will operate over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, from Friday, May 23 through Monday, May 26. The resort will also be open the following weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1.
This record-breaking season was made possible by early snowmaking, which started on October 18, 2024, and continued until February 28, 2025. The resort also benefited from 200 inches of natural snowfall and consistent grooming to maintain good skiing conditions. Snowbowl opened on November 8, 2024 — its earliest opening ever — and will stay open into June for the second year in a row.
“We’re thrilled to announce that the 2024–25 season is the longest in Arizona Snowbowl’s history,” said Angie Grubb, marketing manager at the resort. “Our dedicated team, early opening, and investments in snowmaking made this possible. We are proud to offer skiers and snowboarders more days on the mountain than ever before.”
This season also saw the debut of the Aspen Chairlift, a fixed-grip quad that adds new beginner terrain within the resort’s U.S. Forest Service special use permit area.
Located in the San Francisco Peaks at 9,500 feet elevation, just 14 miles north of Flagstaff, Snowbowl typically receives 260 inches of snow annually. The resort offers trails for all skill levels, three terrain parks, tree skiing, and expert hike-to terrain.
Other U.S. ski areas expected to remain open into June include Arapahoe Basin in Colorado, Mammoth Mountain in California, Timberline in Oregon, and Beartooth Basin, a summer ski area on the Montana-Wyoming border.
