VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA — The Victorian Longboard Titles presented by Kieser Australia will reach its thrilling conclusion this weekend, with the final round taking place at Point Impossible on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
This decisive event will determine which surfers secure coveted wildcards into the 2025 Bells Beach Longboard Classic, part of the prestigious World Tour set for September. The top male and female competitors in the Open divisions will each earn a wildcard spot, strengthening the pathway from local boardriders clubs to international competition.
Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson expressed his excitement about the final round being held at one of the region’s top longboard locations.
“It’s exciting to have the final event of the Victorian Longboard Titles at Point Impossible, one of the best longboard waves on the coast,” Robertson said. “The series has been super exciting so far, with great surfing across all divisions. Good luck to all competitors as they head into the final event.”
In addition to the wildcard opportunity, results from this series will serve as the main selection criteria for the Victorian State Team heading to the Australian Longboard Titles in July on the Tweed Coast, New South Wales.
All eyes will be on Barwon Heads surfer Ben Considine, who is aiming for his third Open Longboard Title. Considine, who claimed victory at Phillip Island earlier this year, has a strong record at Point Impossible and is expected to be a top contender.
However, surfers will face challenging conditions this weekend, with forecasts predicting onshore winds and a powerful swell across the coast.
The event will kick off on Saturday with the first call scheduled at 7:15 a.m. at Point Impossible, followed by a 7:30 a.m. start. Competitors are encouraged to join the official WhatsApp group for morning updates.
