An Ardfert woman is planning a unique way to mark Father’s Day on June 15 by taking part in a Leap for Life skydive. Carley Stack aims to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention and mental health.
Carley, a mother of two daughters, Sophie and Emma, will donate all proceeds to the Kerry Mental Health Association through her online page idonate/CarleyMickaStack11.
As a mental health staff nurse in Kerry, Carley shared, “I hope people can donate whatever they can. Suicide has affected many families, including mine. It feels right to do this on Father’s Day, especially since I lost my own father to suicide.”
She added, “Let’s start the conversation and raise awareness. Every donation counts. I’m asking everyone to please share my donation page to help us reach as many people as possible. My husband Dawid and my daughter’s Godfather, Oskar, will also join me in the skydive to support or encourage me if needed.”
Kerry Mental Health Association provides support to those facing mental health challenges in Kerry, including their families and carers. Their services include befriending and funding community mental health education and therapy programs.
John Drummey, General Manager of Kerry Mental Health Association, said, “We thank Carley for choosing our association for her skydive on Father’s Day. Every donation helps improve mental health services in Kerry. This Father’s Day, we invite everyone to join Carley and her family in building a supportive community for mental health awareness and recovery.”
Carley Stack’s Leap for Life is scheduled for Sunday, June 15.
