Mt. Washington Alpine Resort is offering skiers one last chance to hit the snow this Father’s Day Weekend with a special terrain park set up at the summit.
The British Columbia resort announced plans to open a snow rail park near the top terminal of the Eagle Chair lift on June 14 and 15. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the park and then take the chairlift back up for another run.
Access to the park is free for 2024-25 and 2025-26 season passholders. Other visitors can purchase tickets for $19 CAD. The resort will also operate chairlift rides and ZipTours as part of a summer preview weekend.
This terrain park is made possible by leftover snow that was not covered or protected during the off-season, offering a rare late-season skiing experience.
Mt. Washington enjoyed an exceptional 2024-25 winter season, opening earlier than it had in eight years thanks to heavy snowfall. The resort recorded a season total of nine meters (354 inches) of snow, placing it among the top fifteen deepest seasons on record. This abundant snowpack allowed for a season extension, with the resort reopening for a weekend in April.
The only other recent occasion with lift-served skiing on Father’s Day Weekend was in 2022. That year, snowfall was lighter by about 100 centimeters, and the snow melted faster, limiting this year’s offering to just the terrain park.
Mt. Washington’s official summer season begins on June 27. Summer activities include hiking, lift-serviced mountain biking, ZipTours, disc golf, and dining options.
